How to Take a Proctored Exam. You may be enrolled in a course in which the instructor has required you to take a proctored exam. A proctored exam is a supervised online test that you must complete at an approved location. Your instructor will provide you with the information about the exam, such as the timeframe in which the exam must be taken. It is important to note, however, that you will be responsible for arranging a time and location to complete this exam. The information in this video will assist you with the process of scheduling a time for you to take a proctored exam. The Kentucky Community and Technical College System provides information about proctored exams at its Distance Learning webpage at the address: www.kctcs.edu/Students/Distance_Learning/Proctor_Exams.aspx. This page lists contact information for the various KCTCS Proctored Test sites. These are the names and phone numbers that you will need to contact in order to schedule your proctored exam. The contact information for Maysville Community and Technical College is highlighted here. There is also a link on this page named Student Information that will direct you to a page with additional information you need to know regarding proctored exams. You can access this page by selecting the link with your mouse. This webpage explains your responsibilities as a student in regards to scheduling proctored exams, and some Test proctoring instructions. Let’s review these items in detail. As a student you, your responsibilities regarding proctored exams are as follows: Before the scheduled proctor time, confirm with the proctor or proctor center that the password and other information has been provided by the instructor. Upon arriving at the proctor site, present picture ID. Inform the proctor center in advance of any changes that might affect your scheduled testing time and date. Note that students are responsible for any costs associated with proctoring. There are also specific instructions that you must follow regarding proctored exams and these include: One Week Before the Test; Call the Test Proctoring Site to set up an appointment. Walk-in Testing is not permitted. Ask if the Assessment Center charges for proctored exams. Request an Internet Connected Computer for Online Exams. Contact Instructor to ensure that the Test, Password & all Instructions are sent to the Test Proctor. One Day Before the Test; Call the Test Proctor to be sure the Test will be Ready. And finally, on Test Day!; Bring a photo identification, such as a driver’s license, to the Test Site. Bring pencils, paper and anything necessary to complete the Exam. Maysville Community and Technical College’s Proctored exam policy can be viewed at the following web address: maysville.kctcs.edu/Academics/Assessment_Center/Proctored_Exams.aspx. It is important that you are aware that this policy states that: It is the student’s responsibility to inform his/her Instructor about the test date and have all test information and instructions sent to the Proctor. And that: ALL PROCTORED EXAMS ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Also note that the contact information for the different Maysville Community and Technical College campuses is listed, and this is who you should contact to schedule a proctored exam. And finally, the Guidelines for Testing are as follows:  A testing fee of $25.00 per exam is required to be paid at test time by all non-KCTCS students. KCTCS students will not be charged for testing that is required as part of their course. A picture ID is required for identification before taking a test. It is important that you know your course number, exam name and/or number, instructor’s name and campus location. No children are permitted in the testing room.
