Assessment Center

The Maysville Campus Assessment Center provides testing and assessment services for students in the Maysville District as well as residents in our surrounding community, including distance learning exams for any U. S. college or university and some international institutions.  The college's placement entrance exam and other standardized tests, exams for on-line courses, math skills exams and make-up tests are administered in the Assessment Center.

The Compass placement exam, a test similar to the ACT admissions exam but designed for junior and two-year colleges, is given through the Internet on computer.  All entering freshman are required to take Compass unless they have the requisite ACT scores.  A Compass schedule of test dates is created for each semester.

WorkKeys, an ACT assessment for students in technical programs, is coordinated through the Assessment Center.  Preadmission and certification exams for healthcare and other technical programs are also administered.

Frances Peterson, the Assessment Center Coordinator, is the Chief Examiner for MCTC's GED Test Center.  Candidates for the GED exam are scheduled for test appointments by their local Adult Learning Center.  You may also look at the GED Testing Schedule page to see a list of dates and times that are available.
